Frequently Asked Questions
St. Gregory's Adult Studies FAQ
1. Can I really do this? I haven't been in school for a long time.
Yes!
It is possible because adult students are commonly more motivated, are responsible and have excellent time management skills that help them to be successful in an accelerated adult program.
2. Is financial aid available?
Yes!
As a full-time student, you are eligible to apply for grants and loans. Call the Financial Aid Office at Tulsa (918) 610-8888 or for Shawnee/Oklahoma City (405) 878-5204 if you have specific questions. Once you have submitted your application your Enrollment Advisor can provide you Financial Aid Forms and help you begin the process.
3. When can I get started?
Almost immediately!
New classes begin every month at St. Gregory's. Your Enrollment Advisor will help you select the program and enrollment date that's right for you.
4. What are the benefits of study teams?
Study teams are an essential part of your success with the CWA program. Instructors will inform students, in advance, when weekly projects are required. Each study team will then decide the best course of action.
Teams may meet by:
-
Phone
-
E-mail
-
Off campus
-
On campus
This enhances opportunities to work together effectively while completing individual work assignments. As team members share their talents and experiences, trust and support is built among their peers and the learning process becomes richer and more efficient.
5. How much studying is required outside the classroom?
Students should be prepared to spend 15-20 hours each week outside of the classroom. Included in this time is individual and study team homework.
